How this site is written
Last updated 27 August 2026
Plainly Wed publishes wedding planning guides and free tools. This page explains how we make and correct that content.
Who writes this
Waj writes and edits everything here. He runs this site.
Sometimes a guide covers something outside our direct experience. We say so plainly. We don’t imply expertise we don’t have.
We’re not wedding planners. We don’t present ourselves as vendors. We have no commercial relationships with anyone in the wedding industry.
How guides are written
- We answer the question in the first paragraph, not the ninth.
- If a number exists, we give it. We don’t just say it varies.
- If a claim comes from data, we say where the data came from. We also give the sample size.
- If something is our opinion, we say so.
Data and research
When we publish original data, we state the method, sample size, collection period, and limitations. If a sample skews a certain way, we’ll tell you. We won’t let you assume it doesn’t.
Updates and corrections
Guides carry a last-updated date. Prices, customs and platform behavior change. We revise or remove stale content.
Find something wrong? Tell us. We’ll fix it and note the correction. We’d rather be corrected than be wrong quietly.
Use of AI
We use AI tools for research and drafting. A person reviews and edits everything before it goes live. We never publish generated content unchecked.
What we will not do
- Accept payment for coverage or placement.
- Republish photography we do not have permission to use.
- Recommend something we would not use ourselves.
- Put a tool behind an email wall.
