Waj, founder of Plainly Wed

About

I am not a wedding planner. That is the point.

I have never planned a wedding. For four years I watched people try to plan theirs online. They kept getting the wrong kind of help.

For four years I built and ran wedding audiences online. At one point I ran the Pinterest account for a wedding publication. It reached ten million people a month.

I designed every pin that went out. So I saw what couples searched for, what they saved, and what they clicked.

The same thing happened over and over. Someone would search what a hundred-guest wedding costs. They would get twenty beautiful photographs and a line saying costs vary.

They would search how to seat divorced parents. They would get an article about seating chart calligraphy.

Nobody was giving them a number. Everybody was giving them a mood board.

So I built the answers instead

Plainly Wed is what I wished existed back then. All that search traffic went nowhere useful.

It is a set of tools that give you a real output. And guides written to be read once, then acted on.

  • A seating planner that knows who cannot sit together, and prints seven different charts from one plan.
  • A budget calculator that splits a real number across real categories.
  • Color palettes published with the hex codes. Your florist, stationer and printer all work from the same five values.
  • Guides that answer the question in the first paragraph rather than the ninth.

What I am not

I am not a planner, a florist, a photographer or a venue. I have no vendors to recommend. I have no commission arrangement with anyone in the wedding industry.

Want to know which peonies are in season? Other people are far better qualified than me. I will happily point you at them.

What I am good at is finding what people really need. Then building the thing that gives it to them. That is the whole job here.

How this site makes money

The tools are free and always will be. No account, no email wall, nothing to join.

The big wedding platforms hand you tools in exchange for an account. Then they sell your details to vendors who paid to reach you. That is their business model. It is not mine.

I sell printables. Designed versions of what the free tools produce, through my own shop. If you never buy one, the site still works completely.

Some links earn a commission. They are marked. A commission never changes what gets recommended, and nothing here is a paid placement.

Say hello

If a tool breaks, tell me. If a guide is wrong, tell me. If you needed something and could not find it, tell me.

That feedback is how this gets better. I read every message.
